All about the STi...but what about the regular WRX?

I noticed everyone seems to be all about the STi, but is there anyway to get your regular WRX to perform like an STi? Why are they so much better anyway?

So if I get a regular WRX (with the addition of mods), can I hang with the STi's? Or am I not cool enough?

Excuse me, I'm new at this.

You can make your car a lot faster than a stick wrx.
upipe downpipe ecu and you can hang new turbo and intercooler and you could stomp an sti.

umm, well technically w/ a stage 2 set up (ecu reflash + turbo back exhaust), the WRX can hang at like a STi's back bumper.

In the end the WRX will never truly beat an STi b/c it wont have the torque, 6spd, or DCCD. But you can get pretty close.

I recommend enjoying the stock WRX for as long as you can, get used to it, and learn to control that power. then worry about racing STi's.

It's all what you can afford, both at car purchasing time and the seemingly endless mods. A WRX can be made to near the performance of the STi, but for nearly the cost (or more) of an unmodified one. It all comes down to how fast do you want to go and how $ you can spend.
