I just noticed that bit about "someone told me the stock bov leaks with the stock turbo"

Someone told me an mbc set to 21 psi on the stock turbo should be my first mod!

haha right, I went and re-read the post. He was saying the stock recirc leaks under high boost, and likely under normal conditions... not the stock BOV. I stand corrected.. But how can a aftermarket one throw metal into the turbo? Or weaken the cat in the up-pipe? Is it safe to run an aftermarket BOV if you just want the sound, but have an aftermarket up-pipe?

If you run an aftermarket BOV, with no cats (up pipe and downpipe) the most harm you will do is to your rear lip or bumper, or even possibly someones front bumper who pulls up to close at a stop light. Your going to throw a flame out the back of the beast when the blow off valve kicks off. Possibly later in the blow off valves life it is going to make your car run like sh*t because it needs to be cleaned and retuned or whatever. I ran an HKS SSQV with stock up pipe for about 7k miles no problems what so ever. It just got really annoying after awhile.
