    My First WRX experience...

Hi everyone. Just wanted to say hello and put myself out there as a newbie. I just got my WRX last Thursday. It's a sedan, black, with premium package. I picked it up in Virginia while back visiting my folks in Washington DC. I live in Providence RI.

I've never had a manual car before and haven't had many chances to practice. When I left the dealership I went to meet a friend. My first time really driving a manual and I get stuck in DC rush hour traffic! Not FUN!!! I stalled perhaps twice in the 2 hours it took me to get from the dealer to my buddies house. I truly got the hang of the clutch/pedal action in the bumper to bumper traffic. I was so tense after that ride as it was a brand new car, and DC drivers are quite aggressive. The rest of the weekend was easy going joy riding without really pushing it.

Driving home from DC to Providence is an 8 hour ride. Yet again I got more clutch/pedal practice as it took me 13 hours instead. 95 was just a ***** of a time that day as accident and construction galore were occuring.

For now I'm dreaming of all the mods I'd like to do to the car. The first being wheels. I feel the wheels can make a huge difference. Here's some photoshop fun I decided to have.

The wheels are Volk GT-N wheels. The size I made the wheels are unrealistic though. If the stock wheels are 16's, then the photoshopped images would be xx somethings?

    Anyways...That's my long winded intro.

those rims look like they would be 19"s, which are too big IMO. I like the look of smaller rims with big tires, but thats me. 17"s on some meaty tires with a nice drop look best on the wrx.

I agree. More meat on the tires would be good and I definitely won't go that large. I was just having some fun with photoshop and used wheel images I found on someone's pimped out Lexus.

I most likely will go for something like Perilli's PZero Nero Mud/Snow as winter here last year was a pain. As for the wheels, I have no idea yet. I do like those GT-N's though.

Congrats and welcome to the club!

That was a rough introduction to driving a stick ... you'll get the hang of it and wonder how you ever managed not having one!

    IMO 17" wheels are perfect.
