How to get the turbo to spin up sooner

Seems like the turbo doesnt get in to 2500-3000 rpm... any mods i can do to get the turbo to spin up faster on 2005 wrx.

if you do a search you will find that a simple up pipe and downpipe upgrade will significantly lower your amount of lag.

Most turbo cars will take some time to spool up. 2.5k rpms in the lower gears and 3k rpms in the higher gears is normal for the wrx.

go catless and get a custom tune.

If i make some of these modification how much sooner will my turbo spin up..... also how hard is it to install a turbo gadge?

Any decent mod at all will make a difference in spool time, but if you want to see a HUGE increase just drain and swap out your boost fluid.

Sorry for tread jacking a little but was wondering do you guys with catless rides.

How do you get your exhuast tested, ive read about this over in a bunch of post, but it only leaves me assuming you leave the TBE catless when its time to get tested ?
Just really wondering and im super excited a might be able to hunt down a new 05WRX around august before their all gone.

Totally catless, your stock turbo will have pretty much no perceivable lag.

Here in CA, it's pretty much the strictest state in the US as far as emissions go. So what we do when smog check rolls around, or when cars get sent to the state referee by the cops for illegal exhaust, is that you swap the stock exhaust up/dp back in, and/or return everything back to stock (a must for the state ref inspection).
