Last night I was at a local meet, and I saw this black WRX drive into the parking lot. He must of kept it in first, and all you could here was the turbo spooling. It sounded really good. I am assuming that the up-pipe and downpipe brought up that sound. What mod is it that you can start to hear the turbo spool up like that? Its so badass.

Ok, becuase Im going to keep my stock turbo, and was wondering if with an up-pipe and turboback exhaust if i could produce that spooling sound...
That plus the silencer hack will bring out lots of turbo noise.

what is the intake elbow delete i keep reading about? anyone with pictures of what it looks like? and how to do so

is not recommended but an aftermarket short ram intake will make ur spooling noise louder too....
As long as u keep the MAF sensor in stock position and dont change the diameter of the piping an intake isnt bad nor good right? just get the nice louder turbo spool?

Silencer hack=intake silencer delete=air snorkus removal. All very easy to do for some noise. The elbow replaces the part you remove. Not everyone replaces it with the elbow.

I've got the TXS 4" downpipe and my turbo sounds great. Stock intake. Drives my wife crazy. "Listen! Hear that! Isn't that cool?" She's looking at me like:
Unfortunately it also amplifies the wastegate at certain RPMs.
i took the big intake silencer out and i swear when i put it back on i felt more lowend power than without it. it was cool to hear alkl the stuff coming through it...
Cool, so with a stock turbo I will be able to hear it. Is removing that intake thing safe for the car?
i upgraded to a vf22 and i lost that cool turbo whistle spool sound i get when i step on the gas from idle and light driving.
lot of ppl do it, one of the very few free mods for this car, no problems that i've heard of, pretty safe i guess and nice....
