Hello all, I just thought I would share my enthusiasim in purchasing my '05 Baja Turbo. I hope to be able to learn as much as possible about the 2.5L engine! I've been an active member in the MR2 Owners Groups for years now and see clubWRX much in the same light... tight, friendly, and helpful community.

I dont have any pictures or planned mods yet, but in the near future I'll throw up a website including all my crazy ideas. In the meantime, feel free to look around at http://CrimsonMKII.Net

Ya know I've been looking around for baja specific groups but they don't seem to exist. I'm a little surprised in that the inherent oddities of the baja seem to make it a true sleeper. For the past 8 months I was driving a Nissan Frontier SC, but it wasn't filling the void coming out of my MR2 as a daily driver, not to mention the *potty mouth* gas mileage.

Having a new home, a new baby, and needing utility and size kept me away from the WRX or even the STI. The baja was the perfect compromise! If you check out my MR2 (although not a turbo), you'll see that I attempt to do everything in a tasteful manor. Now that I have a turbo to play with, I'm sure the giggle factor will get the best of me and want more and more power... like a bad drug!

Thanks for the welcome, I'm hoping this ownership is going to be the beginnings of a new found joy!

I like that they've gotten color-coordinated cladding on them now. The first model years were pretty garish.

I test drove one last year. Pretty peppy. You need to mod it though. I expect 350WHP!

    Welcome!

I had a 1985 "Brat" for my first Subaru back in 85. It was a blast and only had 85 HP I think.

Welcome and congrats on your purchase. I've always like the Baja, but I always see grandpas and grandmas driving them. You've picked one of the best comprimises for family and performance IMHO. Now mod away!!

Digging through all the forums I have a pretty good idea what it is going to take to make 300 WHP. I think that is pretty much a relatively easy goal to achieve; now I just have to map out the plan of attack.

This will be a daily driver so I must restrain myself. I'm not sure that I'll ever see a dyno tune, but I know I'll be sure to run it down the strip and at an occasional autox here and there.

nice, good luck with the baja I think you will be venturing into a new frontier, I have always kinda liked the baja and think it would make a awesome sleeper. But after driving my dads mr2 turbo im not sure a baja would fill that void for me
