    Hey, wassup

so i sort of traded in my 03 protege5 for this 05 wrx sedan...what sucks is that i was supposed to have a package here today with stock parts to trade the car in...so they did the deal based on my trade which wasnt there at the time (this is why ill never seriously mod a car again, i hope, but its addicting). so here i am scrambling with all my protege5 buddies to see if i can find someone competant enough to send the package overnight to the CORRECT address....ARGH.

anyhow, enough of that. assuming i get the car back together in time to keep it (next friday is the absolute deadline) i am the proud owner of a new 05 wrx sedan, blue, no wing (i liked it looked a bit cleaner to me).

anyhow, just wanted to stop in and say hi, im over at www.protege5.com as the top poster with about 19k posts in two years, so im sure youll hear a lot from me.

you can cehck out my old car here: www.turboprotege.org or here at mazdausa.com: http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/disp...ningPersonal19

please excuse my crappy typing i get that way when i freak out (like about trying to get these stock parts here in time)

yes and no. if youve ever modded a car that much you know how much of a hassle it can be. it was definatly faster than the rex, so far (but i havent blasted the wrx in fear of bending the shifter), but loud as ****.

my wrx is so quiet, its such a nice change. but i almost shed tears when i started tearing otu the turbo kit etc. now im just ready to move on. i have a few more things to yank off and a stock system i need to get on there asap so i can keep my wrx.

    Welcome!

I've kept all my stock parts so far...so if I ever want to trade in, I just have to get them out of the attic.

thanks for all the welcomes...already im considering modding...

im thinking 18" rota subs in gold with prodrive springs...also definatley going to get a kartboy shifter, bushings, knob....i really dislike the stock feel of the shifter.

Congrats and welcome. I was very impressed with what you did with your MSP5...very sharp and it sounds like it was pretty quick too.

As for mods, I'm sure you'll discover the other forums where those items are discussed, but a quick word of advice. Depending on your intentions for the car (show or go), carefully consider the size of your wheels. The AWD powertrain is already quite heavy, and without SERIOUS mods to the suspension, drivetrain (re: tranny) and engine, you'll hinder the performance with 18" rims unless you spend upwards of 3 to 5K on 3 piece lightweight units. IMO, the WRX platform looks mean with a good set of springs or adjustables with 17" on them...and I think your choice of rims as far as looks go is excellent. Got a friend with them on his WRX and I still think they are one of the better looking rims for the WRX. Good luck!!
