04' WRX is now mine, just joined forums

I just got my '04 WRX, pleased as punch with it I got a 6 year 75,000 mile warranty on it so no mods until thats up or if I get really impatient.. had a quick question about asthetics though.. I'd really like to put an STI hood on it because I like the look of the bigger scoop.. If I ordered an STI hood from subaru would it fit? Are the intercoolers different sizes or in slightly different locations so the scoop wouldn't line up? TIA for the help

Congrats on the new ride... as for the hoodscoop, yeah it will fit, I have a CF one on mine, the windsplitter wont match up exactly with the top of the scoop, but it wont hurt anything, but if you get the STi windsplitter then it will not line up with the TMIC. So if you get the scoop and dont want to replace the intercooler, then just get the scoop and fabricate a longer scoop for the splitter if it bugs you that much, I was going too, but after like a week, I didnt see a reason too

You can just buy the hood scoop by itself and not the whole hood. the scoop lines up over your stock intercooler as far as i believe but the spliter piece is different but i think you can use the wrx one unless you would get a bigger intercooler. i not 100% sure about the splitter piece but i do know that the sti scoop will just bolt where the wrx one is no problem. do some searches about the splitter and i'm sure other peeps will chime in about this.

Both the STi hood and wrx hood are identical, only difference is the scoop. Which, is interchangeable so all you need is the scoop and not the whole hood! Get what i'm sayin?

I just switched to a CF hood and scoop (STi), and after installing the stock STi splitter (diffuser) into the new scoop, I'm willing to bet that any allignment issues with a stock WRX splitter to an STi scoop will be minor. It' not like it will make a noticeable difference if it doesn't line up exactly.

BTW..if you do buy an STi scoop, it won't come with the STi splitter...but you probably already figured that out.
