    2004 Northeast Regional - June 19

From the guy that brought you last years Super Meet at Marcus Dairy...
    CANCELLED

    See: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=475120

    Date: June 19

    Backup Date: June 26

Where: NOT DECIDED YET (but certainly in CT!)

    Time: 11am - Whenever! ?

    Who's Invited?: EVERYONE

    DETAILS:

Location right now, I'm not 100% sure. Last year Marcus Dairy was tight... Too tight! People had problems parking; the Marcus Dairy trucks had problems getting in and out. It was too crowded. However, there are few places with THAT much room. So if you have a suggestion, please mention it! I have an idea in mind, but I need to see if I can secure it. Chances are not likely, but I know people, so well see.

Seeing as the meet in June somehow pulled in some 100 cars, I'm hoping this will be bigger. Yeah, there hadn't been any meets with any good weather up until that point in June, but hey... I think you all had a good time last year, so I don't see why anyone would pass it up again. Once again as well, I've invited the Mitsubishi crew. Some of those guys showed up last year, I hope some (if not lots!) will show up this year.

If any vendors, shops or dealerships would like to help out, let me know. Last year, SpeedSport Technik was good enough to help secure us the lot at Marcus Dairy. As some might remember, their name ended up plastered on both the main thread, and on a sign on my car at the meet.

Anyway, that's the deal so far.
Just wanted to put this info up since I said I would (and I hold to it!)

    ~ Dan

Note: This is NOT the same meet that Italiano (Dom) has for May 1st. I don't know how big the May 1st meet will be, and I unfortunately won't be there (thanks to family visiting ) to find out. I wanted to make that clear so there isn't tons of confusion thinking Mat 1st is being rescheduled.

    LOCATION DETAILS

I can secure a reserved parking area in Meriden, CT at the Westfield Shopping Center (aka The Meriden Square Mall). The parking area would be the Lord 7 Taylor parking lot, which is currently NOT in use.

However, there is a price for this.

    $1000 for the day.
    10am till whenever. Say 4 or 5pm?

I personally cannot afford $1000. However, I believe it would be to the advantage of dealerships, tuning shops, and parts vendors. If say 5 businesses would like to sponsor this, it would cost $200 per business. Under the circumstances, ONLY those vendors who contribute should be allowed to attend. I think for any business who would like to help sponsor this would agree.

Then each business for $25 can create a sign that will be posted at an entrance to the mall. Mass advertising to sell your name to people potential customers. The automotive market is huge, and selling your name to people already into automotive, and those new to is important.

There are some other details in there, such as banners which would be placed in the mall, flyers handed out to customers, and can also workout (maybe for free!) handing out free giveaway products your business may have to further advertise... Such as hats, t-shirts, pens, or whatever it is you might have already. They also have a catalog of items which can have a business name added.

This is a great opportunity for some businesses to make some money! Last year the event at Marcus Dairy in Danbury hosted close to 100 cars, and clear over 100 people (I've heard 150+ estimates). Considering this will be advertised to the public for people outside the Subaru community, it will be a chance to sell Subaru cars and aftermarket products for Subarus and other cars.

If you're a vendor, dealership, or any business who would be interested in being sponsor, please PM me so I can give you my contact information, the mall office number so you can confirm this with them if you so desire, and questions if you have any.

I found a location that can be reserved and secured, however it will cost money. I've added details regarding this to the bottom of the first post. I encourage vendors and dealerships to take a look

    dahg dude $1000!!!!

Any chance this can be held at a public park? Someone local could get the permit, (which would probably be around $35) and just park there.
I could think of a couple of places in Hartford. The only problem with these two is that is going to be just like in Waterbury where you're going to get a lot of ricers showing off, doing burnouts and what not. Hartford cops are not friendly to modded cars because of that too. Oh and it may be a bring your own bullet-proof vest location, other than that it would be great.

why not bring it to the casino, like the TunerNetwork meets. Im sure that parking lot would handle the numbers. I don't think it costs a thing. and you got tons to do if people decided to go do something.
There's also the parking lot of the old Kmart in Plainville, dunno if whatever was under construction there is built yet, but there's an applebees, a friendly's, McD's, and an all you can eat buffet there.
    Just some ideas.

Mohegan Sun has been pretty cool about us having meets there and doesn't cost any money because we go inside and spend money. Remember the casinos want to bring people in anyway they can, to them its free advertisement. There only concern is that no one does anything stupid like burnouts or speeding because there is alot of pedestrians around. Also they asked us to keep it in the back parking garage because the main one in the front is usually pretty packed, and we don't we don't want to upset the mohegan folks by using all the parking spaces for their custumers. The security people are cool as well, they come up as well with their rides and hang with us for as long as they can. It also nice to know that security is around while we hang out inside to eat or whatever.

that's what Im talking about. I mean who cares if we get spots in the middle of nowhere. Atleast they're aware that your there, or have permission to be there, and don't have to get hassled by a mall rent-a-cop by meeting at other places.
yeah it should be common knowledge that if you attend these events people should be at their best behavior. Is not easy to find places to hold these meets without the cops braking them up.

    Sweet meet!!!

It doesn't look like anything was going on with this. That's why I bumped it. Before you know it June 19 will be right around the corner.

I won't be able to make it because of Father's Day.

Yeah and like redobs mentioned Exeter is holding a meet on the next day (Father's Day) which seems to be an annual meet.

Looks like there should be another date for this meet.

LOL! Sounds familiar doesn't it. Atleast with your meet you know that there were people coming and something was actually organized. This meet sounds like it is in limbo right now as far as a location.

I say we meet up at Pab's place.
