    Super East Coast Meet

I can see that each of the individual regions are getting a good number of meets in their respective regions.

I would like to purpose a massive East Coast meet this summer. This would be a great opportunity to meet and greet members from Maine to Florida.

These are my thoughts. If you have any other ideas feel free to mention them. I have a couple of options right now that I am considering as venues that cover each of the three main forms of racing that the WRX is involved in: Road Racing, Drag Racing and Rally Racing. I figured that the best and easiest way to get together would to attend an already scheduled event of some sort. Logistically the best place to host this meet would be in the DC area, as it seems to be centrally located on the coast. Unless those of you from Florida would like to attend the Maine Rally . I did have to throw PA in there as a representative of the Rally scene. The options are below.

The Cadillac Grand Prix of Washington D.C.

June 27-29 The Cadillac Grand Prix of Washington D.C., is an international, annual motorsports event and festival on the grounds of Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium.

The race is one of ten on the 2003 American Le Mans Series schedule. It will be the first American Le Mans Series event on United States soil following the world renowned 24 Hours Of Le Mans in France. The event will be televised live on CBS to more than 300 million homes worldwide.

A Trans-Am Series race, also part of the weekend events and will also be televised nationally. The corresponding three-day festival will feature a rock concert, car shows and a celebrity race among other events.

The Speed World Challenge race will also be run this weekend. This will be a great opportunity to cheer on Irish Mike's Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS.

NOPI Race Wars, Maryland International Raceway

June 21-22 Round 4 of the NOPI Racing Series

    STPR SCCA ProRally

June 7-8 Round 3 of the SCCA ProRally Championship

Depending on how many people want to do this there is a very good possibility to get hotel and ticket prices at a discount. Lets take a vote to see what the interest is.

This meet is not limited to WRX owners. All are welcome.

Twisty Monster - 335 ft/lb of torque @ 3600 rpm on a stock turbo. Is that possible? Yes it is.

I like the GP idea. Appox 9 hrs for me. It is a real GP though.
I didn't vote because I probably wont go to either.
Definately not Nopi Whatever. Drag racing is boring to me unless there are top fuel dragsters or I'm driving someone elses car.

ALMS would be great! I missed it last year, and I was planning on attending it this year. Having a meet at this event sounds like a good idea. However, I am partial since I do live in Maryland.

I vote for the Grand Prix in DC, a little more central so we can draw some more people from the south. I might still go to the SCCA Rally though.

I agree...DC is the best bet to get anyone from the South.

    ok...thanks for all the votes...

right now it looks like the alms race is going to be it....

i will give it until the end of the month...once that comes i will see how many people are truely intersted and see what can be done with ticket and hotel prices....

like i said, i also plan on attending the rally race and i would expect a good showing of clubwrx folks there anyway but whatever the votes show at the end of this month is going to be the "Offical ClubWRX East Coast Meet"...

    ...more to come.
