My car goes back to Subaru in March 08 so I'm all set for an 08/09 STI.

And the sale goes to... whoever gives it to me at Invoice.

I just had my very first encounter with silver 2008 Impreza on the road! (I didn't race it, just saw it driving by)

From the look of it, I believe it was S-GT model (A.K.A. WRX).
I was at an intersection with a stop sign waiting to cross the street. There was a group of 4 - 5 cars on my left and non on my right, so I was just waiting for the group to pass. When they do, only then I noticed there was a new Impreza leading the group!!

As an Impreza owner, I usually could spot an another Impreza from a mile away (exaggerating), but I honestly couldn't tell until I saw the rear end of the car... it blend itself in with rest of the cars very well...

It didn't look as bad as I thought in person. I should head to a dealer to test drive one soon since a salesperson told me they have one for test drive. (I want to test drive an STI, but I guess I have to wait till October for that to happen)

if you come down and get one next year from us, i will leave work and take you down to the dragon for the afternoon.

it will give you a chance to break in the tire edges (the edges on my tires are blue from being " a little warm") -- plus, that is a good way to learn how your car reacts in just about every type of turn, elevation change, etc. you learn alot about your car/bike on the dragon.

The plastic Manifold is found on the LGT as well. It dissipates heat much better which means air is cooler and the car runs much better. The intercooler is designed to work w/ the new scoop and just like the LGT it is more efficient then the WRX.

The LGT intercooler wont fit on a WRX because its inlet is in the wrong spot. The LGT's VF40/46 turbo connects to the intercooler straight up, the WRX, STI and FXT all use a side exiting turbo to connect to the intercooler.

In order for LGT owners to run VF39, VF34, or any WRX/STI/FXT turbo or intercooler they must also swap Intake manifolds to an STI manifold (or other 2.5L).

These are the best pics I have seen

They let you see how the over all body flows. At first I was thinking they looked like mazda's but these do the new impreza justice.

Pics look good. Def lines from the BMW 1 series in it.

Although the plastic manifold is a more efficient design, it does not stand up well to higher levels of boost as the plastic end tanks are attached to the aluminum IC via little tab like fingers. These fingers tend to flex under higher boost and can actually come right off. I have not had any issues at stage 2 on my LGT L after about 70K miles, so it is fairly robust.

BTW...the removal of the intake silencer in the LGT produces a much more noticable increase in the intake noise than when done on a WRX. Some folks might like that.
