i saw a 2008 STI picture in a mag over the weekend..i think automobile. it was in an article called "20 cars to worth waiting for" or something of that nature. the STI was one of them and they had a great picture of it. i liked it.

    • 08 WRX Turbo = Mitsubishi, not IHI. It is *NOT* the TD04 as you can see from its upward connection to the intercooler ala the LGT. It is not a VF40 or VF46 from the LGT it is a brand new turbo.
    • 08 WRX will "smoke an LGT"
    • 08 WRX is "very underrated"
    • 08 WRX wheel wells designed for "205 tires"
    • New STi "will have 245 18's, so imagine what kind of fenders it would need."
    • New STI "will come in Black, Blue, Silver, Gray, White and Red"
    • New STI "will have more aggresive bumper, the grill will have the badge and wings but the chrome will be color matched, lower suspension, larger rear wing and large fenders in the rear like the Clio V6"
The turbo is supposed to be twin scroll...so it wouldn't be anything currently offered in the USDM. Nice..twin scroll is very efficient.

As for it smoking and LGT....I'd wait and see. Heard that before and it hasn't come true yet.

    Underrated is GOOD!!!!!

    ewww..."ticket me red" color.....ouch.

Anything that mimics the clio's looks is good. Now if they could only make it mid engine also....

Well if we figure its the same engine w/ a different turbo on a lighter platform it should outperform the LGT (stock vs stock). But we'll see.

Underrated is great for insurance. We'll see how the magazine comparo's are as the Mazdaspeed and SRT-4 have "more" power BHP but we'll see how they use it.

"Pull me over red" aka Lightning Red from the WRX and 2.5i which is very very similar to San Remo Red (if not the same color code).

    Clio is gorgeous.

    .
All true. I believe the big difference in the current models is the gearing and aerodynamics...giving a slight edge to the Legacy.

According to the projected specs, the WRX should be faster.

oooo i forgot one more thing:

New STI will have "quad tip exhausts." So dual exhausts that each are twin tip.

In addition, the STI sounds so good stock that SPT isn't developing an exhaust for it.

How exactly does that work? Does it split after the downpipe? manifold -> uppipe -> turbo -> downpipe -> two straight pipes?

just how "dual" do "dual exhausts" go? and what's the point?

I'll bet it'll take cues from the Legacy GT exhaust

I don't know what the point is, either. "Dual" exhaust is a fashion statement on a lot of cars these days, even if it's not functional on most. It makes some cars look better, but the diehard minimalist in me wishes for simpler, lighter, cheaper single exhaust.

If they're conservative there's the possibility of cramming 265's.... That deserved a wiggle

I agree... I highly doubt that the "venturi effect" would be involved here to make higher flow. It seems like with the extra bends it wouldn't be worth it other than looks
