I ordered a 2017 DGM Base with Fog Lamps and Tweeters from Clayton Last Night. I'm 38 years old and this will be my first Subaru. I'm very excited to take delivery. Hopefully I can be patient!
I have had a few sports cars over the years between a fox body 5.0, grand national, and a charger srt8 non supercharged. Ironically when I test drove a wrx for the first time last week it put a grin on my face and I drove it all for 10 minutes with salesman in car. Something about these cars make them fun. I have read this over the years and finally decided to say go for it and experience it myself. I felt very connected to the vehicle as with my other sports cars felt like sleds. Weird.....
I stand corrected. Apparently the order banks didn't open yesterday after all..
My dealer took my order in and gave me all the details since dealers got the spec sheets yesterday but officially car will be on order on Monday.
Congrats! Looks like theyll be out first week of June. I tried to put an order in here in Northern VA and dealer said they couldnt place orders yet. If you dont mind me asking did you get pricing close to invoice?
On a side note, I was able to test drive a wrx they had in stock. They pulled 1 out and flipped me the keys. Salesman came with me. I'm assuming the age of the prospective buyer determines test drives. I'm 38.
Just put a deposit down today 04/18/16 on a 2017 WRB Premium with upgraded kicker audio and Short Throw Shifter, Dealer tried to place the order and it wouldn't work so I'll be the first order they place once the ordering system opens up.
I think the higher you go on trims the less you get in return, as long as you don't "have to have" leather then Premium is the best option IMO, though LED headlights are pretty sweet.
I definitely agree on the return value. A lot of it is just convenience and wanting to spoil myself. I don't care about the leather, but I would really like to have the advanced keyless entry and push button start and that only comes on the limited. I had a 2015 base WRX about two years ago and bought aftermarket LEDs and they were great. I would definitely do it again if I decide to go with the base.
I'm with you, I used to have keyless entry and push to start on my 2009 Mitsubishi Ralliart, the wife has it on her 2014 Mazda 3 along with navigation and HID lights, you'd think it would be standard for a 2017.
Was just emailed my order information including VON and given an estimate of the last week of June. Salesperson emailed me the entire information sheet.
If everything was ordered correctly then a Premium Manual Model is (HUO) and World Rally Blue exterior color is (BLU)
Exciting, the next few weeks are going to draaaaaaaaag.
That makes 3 threads made for '17 orders, lol. I made one almost a month ago, then this one popped up, then another one on top of that. I think a mod just needs to merge the 3.
Moderators consolidating already, by closing one of thread already (maybe even a second one).
Exciting to see that folks are now all getting June delivery dates. That's the month after next; yes, trying to keep a positive spin because we all know that a week seems like a month once our orders have VONS!
Our WRX will be a 6M Limited, ISM too, short throw shifter, pkg. 22 and a bunch of other "goodies."
Trying to get quotes now. I received the following quote from a local dealer:
WRX Limited w/ HK audio upgrade pkg and the STS pkg: $29,760 + TTL. OTD price $32,481.49
The only problem was that this was for a 2016. I asked him about the 2017 and he said he isn't able to get a quote yet for that, but it shouldn't be more than an extra few hundred dollars.
This seems like a REALLY good deal, so I want to make sure I get this price. Should I make him quote me a 2017 and send it to me in an email so I have it in writing? No reason he shouldn't be able to right? I might have to be persistent. Never done this before, so not sure how you can be sure the price you agreed upon is actually given to you when the car is delivered.
Wow that's an awesome price. My dealer quoted me 29300 for limited with no options and i thought that was good.
Should i be searching for a better deal?
It is an unbelievable price which is why I want to make sure it is in writing. I do have the email of the final quote for this, but it's 2016. The guy seemed legitimate on the phone and not sketchy at all, but we'll see.
29.3k isn't bad. From what I've been seeing it depends on area and luck of the draw sometimes and how much you're willing to haggle. I even got a recent quote from Clint which I thought was a good price, but still not as cheap as this. I hope to wrap everything up tomorrow or Friday so I'll let you know if I'm actually able to get the deal.
