2015 WRX/STi avg. MPG, post it if you got it

Folks, I am curious as to what the average MPG's folks are seeing on their 15's since taking ownership. I picked mine up May 20th, with 6 miles on her, and am currently at around 2200 miles. The average MPG over the life of ownership based on the cars calculations is 24.1 mpg. it was somewhere in the 27's during break-in. My commute is varied and consists of both city and highway driving. Granted we did not buy these for MPG's, but I have been suprised at others posting here and there that they are getting over 30 MPG average, kinda makes me feel like a hoon!

My one way commute is about twelve miles. I should have mentioned in the OP that I have the 6mt. On the weekends, I go out for longer runs, forty or fifty miles or so roundtrip. What mileage are you seeing on your 15?

19mpg combined, 24-25mpg highway. However, the engine and drivetrain in the STi is much less efficient.

Reason I ask about your commute: at cold start, the motor is in "cold start enrichment" which sprays approx. 30% more fuel than ideal to achieve complete combustion (depends on external and block temperatures). This lasts for up to approx. 10 minutes. If your commute is very short, you spend more time in CSE and your average fuel economy will be much worse.

Still, that is decent mileage for your EJ. I always allow my car to warm up prior to departure, once the rpms drop to 750ish, I depart. I have a feeling that the weekend jaunts, which are always spirited, are the main culprit. Though again, I did not buy her for fuel economy, just curious about others experience. Thanks Zax!

Keep in mind that while you are sitting there idling you are still burning fuel - and not going anywhere... which is essentially 0 mpg. If you only drive in 12 mile spurts then that warm up period could be why your overall fuel economy is suffering.

I have a pretty hellish 26 miles commute of suburban red lights and school buses and 55mph zones which are sammiched by 30's and I'm up in around 28-29 when I am just cruising. When I feel a bit spirited, I am down around 25. I noticed over 30 with fairly aggressive highway. I noticed that the fuel calculations from the car are getting closer to my math (and fuely) the more miles I put on her

I get about 15mpg on my short commutes, less than 3 miles. It's all through residential stop signs and stop lights. My longest drives are about 30 minutes when I go downtown or for joy rides. So far, I've gotten 19.7 and 17.9mpg on my two fill-ups.

I'm not too surprised by these numbers for short trips. When I'm on the highway I've seen it averaging in the mid 30's.

I just topped mine off for the first time. True average of 28.7mpg. That is 98% highway at 65-75 and 2% city driving.
    Its the manual.
