    First fill up 26.1, display.

Second fill up 30.6, display. 28.4 calculated. According to my experience the display is showing better mpg.

In March - over 17,000 miles now...since 95% of all my miles are highway, my fun is taking the exit speed twice what's posted - this thing has unbelievable handle.

    Still loving the car!

Reason I ask about your commute: at cold start, the motor is in "cold start enrichment" which sprays approx. 30% more fuel than ideal to achieve complete combustion (depends on external and block temperatures). This lasts for up to approx. 10 minutes. If your commute is very short, you spend more time in CSE and your average fuel economy will be much worse.
So this means if I drive to work, 2 mile commute, my car will never get ot of CSE. It takes me 5 minutes to get to work. Do all cars do this or is this a Subaru thang?
