2015 WRXs are notorious for boost spiking. So much so that Subaru actually market's the issue as "temporary overboost."

From what I've seen, 19-21 PSI is common, settling to 17 PSI after about 500ms.

200 miles in and taking it to the dealer for peak boost issues? I hope they don't write off your future warranty claims for not following the break in procedure..

I haven't had a rev past 4k and my peak boost is 20.something. When I picked up the car it was at 6psi.

I've bought 4 subarus and no one from a the dealership has ever mentioned break in to me.

After reading here I've "broken in" all of my subarus for 1000 miles.

Anyway I hit 17.5 psi on my 15 STi

Did you ever try to get an engine replaced under warranty after telling them you ragged on the car for the first 1000 miles?

    I haven't

but I also wouldn't say yea well I drove off the lot and beat the piss of out the car and it blew up.

I also follow break in procedures but I have never been told by anyone from subaru to break in my car and I've bought all 4 from dealerships different ones at that.

I'm not sure I see how that's relevant .. I've never been told by anyone at a dealership not to fill my crank case with water instead of oil, but I'm sure if I did, then tried to have them warranty the engine they would tell me to get lost. It's in the owners manual.. if you don't follow the manual, they have every right to deny warranty claims. The dealership has no obligation to tell you the ins and outs of properly maintaining the car, that's why it comes with a manual.

By returning it, do you mean selling it back to the dealership and taking a huge initial hit on depreciation? Dealers won't take "returns" unless you're driving a lemon.

in some cases you have 5 days grace period if you have Capital One Financing or if they write your Capital One Blank Check improperly as in my case
