    2015 Legacy Leaked

2015 Subaru Legacy spills out ahead of Chicago - Autoblog

Pretty meh exterior styling (although I'd argue it's better than the outgoing model), but the interior looks much better.

No confirmations on engine options, but I'm confident the 2.5i will remain on the base model. The real question is the fate of the H6, which has been a Legacy/Outback option since 1999. It's a torquey and extremely reliable engine, but the small four cylinder cars have always outsold the flat six, and there are rumors Subaru will be putting the EZ engine out to pasture for the new model.

Another question is whether or not we will see the return of the Legacy GT model. Last offered in the US in 2010, it has remained an option in Subaru's other markets (along with a six speed manual and a wagon, which we've never seen... ). With the 2015 Legacy, some are wondering if the US will see the GT resurrected with some variant of the 296hp turbocharged FA engine, available on Japanese Legacies since 2012.

File this in the loony-bin, but some automotive journalists have taken the Subaru Levorg concept as a sign of the return of the Legacy wagon to the US, which I'm all for. I think the new body style looks fantastic in wagon form, with a profile reminiscent of the Audi RS7 Avant.

So...it looks like a larger version of the Impreza. Kinda like what Nissan is doing with the Sentra/Altima.

As a fan of wagons in general, I agree. The sedan is so-so, but that wagon is one of the best next gen vehicles I've seen lately. (Agreed on the Avant comment before I even noticed it was written)

I agree...I hate that weird name "Levorg" but the wagon certainly looks like it could give an Avant a run.

It kinda reminds me of the old wrx wagons, just a lot sleeker.

It's boring. It looks like a Camry. Anyway, the H6 remains as is and the 4-banger is bumped to 175HP and 174ft-lbs TQ. Modest rise in MPG for both. Hopefully they will come out with a MUCH MORE aggressive GT model with a 4-banger turbo and close to or over 300HP.

EDIT: no manuals...all CVT. (for now)

Easily faster than the new WRX.

Edit: By the way, top gear passing times wouldn't be tested on ALL cars (as in by professional drivers writing for reputable car magazines) if they didn't mean something. I'm thorough in my car shopping and look at ALL specs. So now everyone can jump on my back in this thread too. See if I care.

So if a new Leggy with CVT is faster than the new WRX 50-70...then that means it is more sportscar.

No sir...just means it's faster. 'Sports' is an all-encompassing term...tends to rely on more than one spec. But I'm sure you already know that and are being facetious.

No no, you're right. Since, after all, a 5.0 Genesis is much faster than the new WRX 50-70 in their top gear test, and that's obviously not a sports car.

I concede. 50-70 top gear doesn't indicate a sports car, but does tell you what car is faster. Which is why people who want straight up speed should buy a FRS/BRZ. Since that is faster in Car and Driver's top gear test 50-70.

Depends what you value most. I go for 0-60, 1/4 mile and handling prowess over anything in the 'sports' specs categories. If passing power is a problem, then I suppose a good aftermarket tune could fix that. Yup. Or...find a car that has it all out of the box. Which is why that new Audi S3 and Golf R are tempting. FRS/BRZ doesn't do it for me in Michigan...need a 4 season DD.
