    I find DSM alarming.

Too many rumors. Diesel? Electric? Turbo? Who knows if Mitsubishi will still be in the states by then. Doubt the introduction of a new Mirage will bail 'em out.

No comparison. In less time than I've owned my Subaru: Transfer case leaked. Balance shaft bearing failed. Exhaust valve in one of the cylinders failed. A/C compressor failed. A/C condenser leaked. Radiator failed. Radiator overflow reservoir failed. Steering leaked. ECU capacitors leaked. Fog lamp switch failed. Parking lamp flooded. Alternator failed. Hatch dampers failed. Catcon failed. Idle control screw backed out, never seen again. Exhaust manifold screws backed out. Down pipe gasket leaked.

Plus back then any WRX was quicker than any DSM (even those that ran), roomier, with better brakes and more suspension travel.

Great car to borrow. I'd not recommend buying.

^Nice specimens you got there. I'd rather them continue with the Evo.

Agreed. I'd love an Evo. Always wanted one. Just don't feel like financing something that's been beaten to hell.

I miss mine as well. It was faster and a lot more raw than my WRX but obviously much less of a daily driver. Can't really compare the reliability of a 20+ year old car that has been raced hard to a 2014 Subaru though.

I see your front mount. 16G? My 1G had an FMIC, but by that I mean the Fender mount IC. A brilliant idea I suppose. I considered plumbing in a second, behind the driver's side fender. Those were the days. The 1G had a better turbo than the WRX -- I liked the 14B!

To be clear (and honest) I'm not comparing a 20+year old car to a new car for reliability. I will readily compare the last 2G in the US with the first WRX in the US, and I'm betting Subaru have nothing to fear.

Many ex turbo Mitsu guys made the switch to Subaru from 2002 onwards. At one point there was no longer a turbo AWD DSM, and no Evo in the US yet, so Subaru was the non-Audi choice. Earlier, the choices were Audi, DSM, or the much rarer Mazda 323 and even rarer Isuzu Impulse AWD. The bugeye got most of that market when it came out I think.
