    You are correct.

"With completely remastered track-tuned suspension, a tighter steering ratio, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, and the 305-hp turbocharged SUBARU BOXER engine, this is the best-handling, best-performing WRX STI. Ever."

Pulled from the Subaru site. However, HP is a small fraction of what makes the car.

yup, definitly noticed that. looks like its running the ej257 but, it looks like the version 1 257 found in 08-10 sti's. those came with the unmarked intercooler and it appears that the intake mani is now plastic instead of aluminum.

Same engine and transmission, apparently. I might just have to see if there are any '14 STIs in my area then, no sense waiting till April.

Still 305hp? Really? The Sti came with 280hp 20 years ago. Yes, I know a bunch of you will argue that it's about more than power and, yes, I agree. But it had handling 20 years ago when 280hp, at least in Europe, was a LOT of power. Its rocket-ship performance for a very reasonable price was the whole selling point. Now it just has handling. In terms of power, it's been left behind.

how many of you power-gods are truly using every pony?! honestly.

torque is where it is at... with a speed limit of 65/70 on most highways, where is all this HP being used? Unless everyone on here, besides me, lives at the track, then why does it even matter if the newest iteration does not have a bajillion HP?

I am waiting for the "size" comparison thread
Kartboy STS, related shifter/linkage bushings, Whiteline subframe bushing inserts, Whiteline rear differential bushing inserts, Whiteline steering rack bushings, Grimmspeed MCB, Group N tranny mount, TiC tranny cross member bushings, gimmick turbro inlet pipe, Ingen intake, PW-clone TMIC, Turbrosmart BPV, Megan catless DP, Tsudo N1 exhaust... X-wing dangly and dashboard Buddy Christ (for lulz)

If it truly didn't matter to you either, you would be driving a Legacy or Accord. They have similar power, but nicer rides and nice interiors. Most people don't use the motor to hit top speeds, but to get to their desired speed quickly. Others use it to help avoid accidents as there is one more option beside brake, turn left , or turn right..Some like the push in the back when you start up. The Torque #'s didn't change looks like..
For me, it looks like the WRX with it's flatter torque band, and easy tune potential (and reduced cost) is a simple choice..
