.... (which, to me, felt much more like an advert than a review) thought it was an AMAZING manual gearbox. I'll wait for more reviews before I decide who (whom?) to believe.
Except he was driving the cvt, not manual

All the reviews I've seen mention both cars at some point, as though they drove both and didn't bother to show video for both.

Looks like the CVT only comes on the Premium model...

" Three trim levels are available—base, Premium, and Limited. Major standard features on the plebeian WRX include power windows and locks, a six-speaker audio system with Bluetooth audio and USB connectivity, a rearview camera, and automatic climate control. Moving up to the Premium unlocks CVT availability"

    Transmission Double Play

    Welp..base model for me!

I find it funny how companies still list power windows and locks as a "standard feature."

I don't know if every car on the market in the US comes with those as standard now. If they do, it's not that long ago that they didn't. My previous car, a 2005 Focus, didn't. Neither did it have a tachometer. For someone who only changes their car every 5 or 6 years, this is useful information because they may not have them on their current car.

No tachometer in an '05? my '97 2x4 pickup had a tachometer

How are you suppose to know about your rpms?

The car I learned to drive a manual transmission on had no tach. I think I just relied on the sound.

Right, but it just seems that a tach would be standard, hell, even the old 1980s accord my friend had had a tach. The automatic windows and locks didn't come standard til later is understandable.

    Strange..

You must be very young. Cars never used to come with tachos.
