No, I do not want to do burnouts. Especially with an AWD car! I'm trying to figure out if doing what would essentially be a burn out, is actually how you use Subaru's built in Launch Control... Brake down, gas down, rev and release, which it seems like it is. Thus, "Guess I can't do real burnouts". It's literally impossible, which is a good thing. (I guess technically you could with the E-Brake) But No, I have no intention of destroying my transmission.

So basically you want to launch the car. You don't want to do burnouts. Lose your dif, trans, possible axles or u-joints.
Even still launching probably isn't too good on these cars. Definitely not the older 5 speeds

"What’s more, the CVT comes with launch control — yes, a CVT with launch control is a thing — actuated simply by bringing the car to a stop, throttle-braking, then releasing the brake pedal."

Did it in a parking lot 20 minutes ago, Set it in Sport#, hold brake, fully depress gas, it revs and holds at 2500rpms then release. Works great.
