Didn't give them a cent before taking it on a test drive, just a copy of my license and insurance.

It is a part of the HK and Nav package.

On the Limited only according to both the original spec sheet and Cars101 ("note: Limited model Navigation Pkgs include keyless access pushbutton start").

Fair enough. I'm getting the limited but I don't care about the push-start.

I just wanted to revisit this because it reminds me of when the WRX first came to U.S. shores in 2001... and Subaru claimed "0-60mph in 5.6 seconds!" And everyone was ultimately confused when Nissan Maximas would out-accelerate the WRX to 60mph when a rolling start was introduced. Long-story-short, the 5-60mph times posted by the bugeyes was closer to 6.5 seconds.

I believe C&D already showed that the 5-60 times posted by the 2015 WRX were faster than the outgoing model... can anyone confirm?

The keyless access/Push button start is one of those things that if you've never had it, you really won't miss it. But once you have it, it's quite annoying to not have. Kinda like the autodim mirror IMHO. That came on my 2004 STi and I thought it was crap until I had it a while and then had to drive a car without it.

I have had the push button start/keyless access for two years so I'm a spoiled now, I'm gonna have to get it.

I've heard this from multiple sources. Even more reason for me NOT to invest in the push-to-start!

I'm thinking STi limited WRB with short throw and nav-keyless

(I really don't want the nav but I gotta have the keyless)

Jay -- explain to me the value proposition of keyless --- is it really worth the $2500?!

It's msrp is 1500 not 2500 (on an STi at least). And it is just crazy convenient not having to fish for keys every single time you go to get in your car. Over the time/years that convenience is honestly worth it to me.

also no scratches on on the door or the steering column and it's practically impossible to lock your keys I the car.

Ah OK. Premium over WRX Limited is $2500.

And honestly my initial thought was not to get it... But on further reflection I realize it would annoy that the crap out to have to go back.

I'm too mathy. At $2500 extra on $31k, I'm paying about $50 a month for the keyless start. That means that (on average, I get into/out of my car twice a day) I'm paying roughly $1 for that convenience EVERY time I get into my car. Not worth it for me.

I really don't have interest in the HK system nor the nav.

Given your interests I really do agree that it doesn't seem a good val-prop at all.
