That's a pretty awesome car. I think, even though it will never be sold at auction, that someday, that could be the most expensive car in the world. Non-production, one off, never sold, hyper car. Yea, that's a good mixture.

The technology was a shame to waste by not reaching production, but at least many of the styling cues found their way into the F-Type. What an impossibly beautiful car that is.

EDIT: I also have a sneaking suspicion that it's not reaching production because Jaguar has already spent too much money developing it, and building more would just put them further in the hole. Jaguar isn't owned by VW, after all.

I've found Jags to be quite boring to look at, for decades. The Etype from the 60s was interesting.

How the hell do you build a car like that, and not slate it for production??? That could change the supercar market in MANY ways.

But I also guess that would be its downfall as well...it's not that big burly mid-mounted V8 or V12...or W16 or whatever engine you can think of. But this thing can also get better gas mileage than our WRXs

    Truly a beautiful car though.

72.4 mpg to be exact. It almost seems that a section of Jaguar designers are fighting the company to save the car. Looks like they put a lot of effort into it. The reason given by the company was that the European economy was down & it would not be a good time to build a supercar. Sounds ridiculous.

I'll agree for the most part. I think that Jaguar has become quite a contender in recent years though. I'm guessing it's mostly in the time since they were sold by ford, that they have produced some very good looking cars. Looks aside though, I'd buy an XK-R or XK-RS for the sound alone if I had the money. That V8 can really roar.

And that new F-type is gorgeous. It's drop-top only for now, but the coupe is coming.

Some of the recent models do look more aggressive..especially when you get into the higher-breed models like you referenced. The XK-R and XK-RS are $100K+ cars, so not really a part of any consideration I'm making for the future. What I'm talking about is from a few years back, when they (to my eye) released some really bland-looking cars, and some of the lower-end models didn't seem to offer much bang for the buck, performance-wise. Honestly, I feel like my BRZ has better lines and aesthetics than this 2007 XK..
