Looked at the 2013 WRX at the Toronto auto show, what are they thinking making the dash and inside parts out of cheap plastic?I so want a WRX but c'mon!..the outside body is comparable to 100K plus cars there, but i felt like i was sitting in a 1970 Lada, sheesh add some soft to the touch pieces. Also why are we in Canada paying 7K plus more for the same car?
I could see 7K more if the car is 200k plus but we're talking 25% more for a car under 25K in the US.

    Almost 2013 WRX

Anyone mentions Lada, I'm there. Big fan! 210x, Niva, the whole range, I'm in.

Subaru and luxury aren't yet synonymous.

As to why you pay more in CA, that's another story.

Lada 1200 "Junior" model, wood rim steering wheel and spoiler, oh the memories!

AvtoVaz made some rather rugged cars. I am more of a fan of the Lada Samara. A lot more nimble & easier to drive than the Zhigulis (or Signet for our Canadian friend).

I'm a big fan of the Niva. Drive it anywhere. Mud,snow, you name it.

Not big on luxury but practical for the masses.

    Almost 2013 WRX

Rolled a Niva in another life, hard. Broke all the glass. Can't imagine how bad my hair must've looked. Hard times for princes as they say.

For FWD eastern block cars though I'd go Skoda Favorit, with the weird snout. Porsche Design did work on that.

The OP has a point. For $10K CAD more than US cars the Subarus are poorly executed inside in my view. They are much more practical than the competitors in winter but still, although the interior is improved it's still not world class.

I had to read that one twice when I first opened the thread. Wait..what?

Thoughts about the interior are quite subjective. The new-gens I've sat in seemed nice enough to me, for the price. In fairness, I don't spend a lot of time in $100k+ cars.

Yup,after taxes and delivery and all the other nonsense they are 40K in Canada for a base WRX out the door!....i would't be posting if i wasn't serious about a purchase...
still may buy one but the difference from 25K in the USA to our 33K before taxes is not sitting right with me.
Yes the car looks like a million bucks not just my quote of 100K,but a million$$$$$$$$!!!!!!

You obviously didn't look too closely at the paint.

You mean Lamborghini's have paint that's more than 3 microns thick?

The paint will look fine 'til you hit a gnat at 35mph.
