I think it looks cool but my god it's under powered!
I doubt anyone here wants a Scion.
Kindly take your ad and shove it, please.
Good day.

i dont see how its ANY different then a 2012 impreza hatch. it looks exactly like my GF car but it just has a tiny bit more ground clearance. Its teh exact same interior as well. so a all new car for Subaru is take an existing one and add 2" of height and doneWhat a lazy design team there
Yeah, you're right. There's a Youtube video with some rep and he openly admits it(close enough).
I kinda like it. Its Subaru going for that niche market, as they used to. And 8 inches of ground clearance is awesome.... just needs a turbo.

It's nothing new. The "Outback Sport", simply a more "offroad friendly" version of the Impreza, has been around for many years. This is a continuation of that trend.

Yeah, I was thumbing through my bugeye's owner's manual awhile back, and saw that while the std Impreza and WRX owners are strongly advised not take the cars offroad (the AWD is for inclement weather, not rock crawling), they give basic offroading tips for the Outback Sport regarding break angles and such.

You read a manual transmission? And it had all that on it?

I'd buy one if I thought I could pass a grandmother going 25 MPH up a hill at Colorado elevation.
I honest to god don't think it can.
Pathetically slow. Total dissapointment. It's really disheartening that Subaru is so cynical in their market strategy. They know a turbo or at least competent engine would dig into the WRX market share, so they make a horrifically under powered vehicle or a full-on sports car your only options. No middle ground.
Lame.
it is the same height and ground clearance as an Outback, and if my dealer is accurate, it's pretty much the same suspension/platform as the outback. If you want a small crossover that's not a station wagon and cheaper than an Outback, it's perfect. Have not driven one, but saw one in the show room when I bought my WRX. Nicer than I was expecting.

Your dealer is incorrect, It's an Impreza platform based car, not outback, and outback is 3" taller too although they have the same ground clearance. My impression of the car is that it is a jacked up Impreza that handles slightly worse and gets less mpg. For the price and the mpg difference I would just buy the impreza 5 door instead of the XV, unless you're in love with the look of it. Or you could buy a forester for less money if you can use the bigger size. Either way I think Subaru is only stealing their own sales with this car.

Yikes. What's the deal with Subaru dealer folks and knowledge about their product, these days? Seems like they'd give them a one-day course somewhere about platforms/engines etc. Not that much to know.
