If it's a hoax, it worked on me: I panicked and went out and got a '13!

Then, of course, I heard stories that the '14 will be a 3-door (only), back-to-the-roots sort of rallycar-looking vehicle like the current WRC European competition (Citroen, Peugeot, Skoda, Ford, Mini). A 3-door would definitely get my attention.

Not that I would ever get it dirty, mind you.

new here, not sure if anyone has seen this but i thought i'd throw it up:

Spy Shot: 2014 Subaru WRX coupe spotted testing - Autoweek

High on many Subaruphiles' wish list is a new two-door WRX STI, and the Japanese manufacturer might just be working on such a model. A two-door WRX-looking, highly camouflaged mule was recently spotted testing in the Ann Arbor, Mich., area. Subaru has a research-and-development facility in Ann Arbor.

Subaru officials would not comment on the prospects for a 2014 WRX coupe, saying no such model is in the plans for the near future.

The mule could have been testing an engine and suspension package for the much-rumored, but not yet official, STI version of the BRZ.

Whatever it is, there was no mistaking the boxer-engine exhaust note, which is much more difficult to camouflage than the sheetmetal car body.Click image for larger version.

    2014 Subaru testing

^^Hadn't seen that. Interesting. That does seem to bear a more close resemblance to the BRZ test mule that was driving around prior to the car's launch. Just have to wait and see what happens.

Looks like the same mule that has been around for a long time. People used to think that was what the BRZ was going to be back in 2010.

Test mules thoughtfully prepared to mute customer interest, by the Bud Tugly school of automotive design.

The car in those pics was a design project done by someone outside of Subaru, and dates back to at least 2008.
Seems like a WRX coupe would cannibalize BRZ sales.

Well, not to dog on Subaru but they kinda need outside help with their designs...
Still the reseblence is spot on to the camo mule.
    Maybe Subaru bought the design???
the head lights are similar to their newer non wrx vehicle designs.
This may be an older design, but What do you think of the nearly identical shape?
