Rear engine LS? Yep. I'll take one.

I've seen a bunch of e30 LS swaps as well that were pretty badass.

If indeed this is true, Subaru would be better off with two separate and different automobiles in the showroom.

My heart says, "its about the cars". My business mind tells me, "for Subaru it's about the $$ and selling more cars".

Just fyi to the 'turbo' model speculations, cited from the above link:

"While past brand history would indicate an STI version would use a turbo, that’s not the case here, with Atake saying that basic modifications to the intake and exhaust, as well as a higher rev limit could up power. In fact, Atake swore off a BRZ Turbo commenting that, “we want to keep turbocharging separate. It is for models like the WRX STI.” "

i think its a good thing to keep a little distance between the two cars (wrx, brz) its just that much closer to brand cannibalism to put a turbo in both.

on that note i was at my dealership the day before pre orders started, the service specialist and i were chatting about the brz/fr-s he said subaru's sales rep let it slip that "they are getting the turbo version and scion is not" (he didnt say when). he was completely ecstatic about the brz and showed the dealer plate behind desk saying he will be the first to drive one at their lot.

Respectfully disagree. Would you consider it brand cannibalism if Mazda put a turbo in the Miata? Would you then have a tough time choosing between a Miata or the Mazdaspeed 3?

I maintain that there's not much point comparing the BRZ to the WRX/STI. They are very different types of cars.

It is kind of like saying that Honda should only make a prius hybrid. I don't get it at all.

Dont know your mazda's that well do you? The miata has already come from the factory with a turbo.

    http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/pdf/..._specs_MSM.pdf

I think they should enhance the power of the car in any efficient manor they see fit. I'd go turbo personally but I'm not an engineer, just a regular guy with better than average mechanical/fabrication abilities. Be it forced induction or not the car really does need a lil more snot and I'm sure they'll deliver in due time.

Now for those of you pipe dreaming awd ... that is NOT going to happen in this chassis. Ever.

edit: and that stanced picture is sacriliage in its purest form. But, you know some dumbass is going to do that to a brand new car and then ***** that it rides like **** "but its a lifestyle" ..

no.. its stupid, but I could go all day ranting about the idiots of the automotive enthusiast world.

You're wrong...it looks horrible. It looks like the rear control arm is broken. You're lucky I didn't give you negative rep for agreeing with agreeing with that
