Going back to the beginning I am not trying to dictate any of the details, it just seemed to be easier to get people to confirm they would be coming if there was a specified time, date, meet up spot, and drive idea. I'm not sure how these are normally organized but that was my best idea. I'm going to back out as organizer in chief and let someone else take the helm, (yamaha_rider619, mule, sinister?)
I look forward to meeting everyone wherever/whenever we end up getting together!
Um well it looks like the 23 is the date but we need a actual time and place. I know sinister (Kevin) and I like highway 6 up to Idaho springs and grab a bite to eat. We should look for places/drives to meet which won't be affected by weather or traffic.
Last meet we met at the mills mall in golden and then drove up to Idaho springs and grabbed a bite to eat. And if we meet at the mall, and the weather is bad we can go into a parking garage.
There's a Beau Jo's pizza in Idaho Springs. I was there a few years ago on a similar ride (but with sport bikes).
I'm thinking about going on this one - the weather would be the main factor, after all Christmas in the mountains = snow usually. I've still got my stock summer tires
Beau Jo's pizza was our original plan last meet, but we had too many people so we decided to go to tommy knockers instead. At this rate snow on Christmas sounds unlikely lol.
So is the plan to meet up in Idaho Springs or somewhere like Morrison?
By the way, whoever mentioned Boulder Canyon - I would vote for that as well. It's been 8 or 9 years since I've been there but I remember it being a fun drive.
We'll meet Thursday December 23rd at 1pm in the lower parking lot below Target by Colorado Mills Mall
We'll leave from there around 2:30 to do a cruise up highway 6 through the mountains to Idaho Springs where we'll all get some food.
Bring a fold up camping seat or two, your spit shined cars, etc. And some cash for food. Splitting credit cards is painful.
Be cool, no attitudes or jack-hole driving. It's a 1 lane road most of the way on the cruise, and there's no reason to put yourself, or others in danger.
If you have any questions or need directions, let me know

I'm not sure whether I can make it. I have two multi-million dollar things for work that I have to prepare within the next week as the key guy behind both. I'm working right now trying to crunch through some of it. I'm probably looking at working 200+ hours in the next two weeks.
I don't drive the cars I do because I'm a trust fund kid. I hate it when people think something along those lines. Unfortunately, I give up a lot for work. Thinking about wrapping it up for the night and maybe getting 4 hours sleep. That's pretty normal for me.
The last cruise was A LOT of fun, I just don't think that the roads will be as safe this time of the year, (given driving style). If we have a couple of days of sun prior to Sunday though I'll feel pretty confident.
Any major road up here in the mountains will be fine. It's just the shady spots you have to worry about where sun never hits them. Ice/snow will stick around there constantly this time of year. We had a lot of fun going up Mount Evans last time, and that road should be fine again as long as it doesn't snow the night before heavily.
Scott, I understand how that goes, not to the same extent though. 4 hours of sleep that's rough! I never thought money was given to you just because you have nice toys, plus you seemed like a pretty nice guy the last meet.
This looks like another great meet, I really want to come but I'm stuck in vegas for xmas and new years. hopefully we can put together another meet in 2011l, maybe ice racing at georgetown? :wiggles:

I was just up Squaw Pass on Thursday and it was 100% snow packed from about 4 miles out of Evergreen all the way to Echo Lake and even further down the Idaho Springs side. It then snowed about 5 inches in the higher elevations and has been cold ever since. Even after the plows come through there will most likely still be ice/hard pack over most of the road since the road is on the north side of the mountain and at 10,000+ feet I doubt it will get much sun nor will temps get high enough to melt the road completely.
Just thought I'd share that so everyone knows what to expect if you guys do go up there. I'm heading up again today but only to Echo Mountain. I'll let you guys know how it looks. Have fun! Wish i could make it.
