Im familiar with how my vette launches, still not terribly comfortable with the subie though due to my lack in experience in launch turbo vehicles. In the vette i can practically launch from idle and i still break loose. But not sure if i want to rev the subie up prior to launching.
Closer to idle = Slower off the line, but easier on the car...

3k or so = Fast off the line, clutch replacement once a month...

At least in my experience... The clutch I have now doesn't like being slipped at all with any kind of revs though. It also matters where your boost really kicks in as to how you're going to get moving off the line. For example, before I made any alterations, I could take off without any issue and get it right off the line. With this setup, it takes a little longer for the turbo to spool so I lag off the line, which isn't a huge thing around town, but if I were racing it with a purpose, I would bring the revs up prior to launching and find myself a clutch that is a little more friendly to such a take off (I can get away with it from time to time, but not on a regular basis). That being said, I have not, and likely will not, take my car racing at the track, so you might seek advice also from the guys that do.

^ Of course, I dont frequently race my subie anyways. But of course peer pressure from friends wanting me to run the WRX at bandimere soon. Eh, i tuned the Vette recently, may as well see what improvements i got out of it.

I'll be racing up there this summer... If you'd like to ride with me one of the runs, I can run over 14 so you can ride with me, but I'll show you how to launch em. On all seasons I've gotten several 1.8 60fts on the stock transmission And my clutch lasted over 50 drag launches + daily driving for 30k miles. So I'd like to think I know how to launch them. Plus I never blew out my transmission.

    Hi guys!
I'm new on this forum and just purchased my WRX, and I hope I can join you guys to go cruising some time with other WRXs instead of the random mustangs, neons, etc. This is my first new car and first subaru and it's amazing!

Is anyone planning on going to Street Tuner Mayhem at Bandimere June 5th? I know it's a ways away but just wondering if anyone wants to get together to go to it

Please don't take advice from Kevin/Sinister on how to drive a manual. The guy was dumb enough to buy my trashed STi drivetrain so he's not too bright.....

Then again I'm the guy that just sliced my thumb open on a cheese grater and an hour later it won't stop bleeding. Maybe you should listen to him.....
