And I'm here to ask for your help to maybe make the car buying experience a little less unpleasant.

Can anyone who has recently bought a Subaru give me their impressions of the dealers and share some of their experiences, both good and bad that they had during the buying process? Are there dealers that you would recommend, or recommend I avoid in the Colorado front range area? For those those who have an '11 wrx, how do you like it? Any buyers remorse? How does it compare to other cars you looked at? And if you would share the price that you actually paid for the car, that would be really helpful. I and other future car buyers would really appreciate any info and suggestions you might have.
I used to have a '99 Passat so I can give a good comparison between your current car and a Subaru (in general).

Your car has an awesome interior. I always loved how those looked. The Subaru won't be up to par with that, but it'll still have a decent one. If your car is a stick, then I'm sure you love that tranny. It shifts like butter. The Subaru will be a bit rougher, but still very good. The power of the Subaru is going to blow away your Passat. The handling is better too, plus you'll have AWD.

All in all, not a bad switch.

I'm seriously considering getting rid of the G-wagen for another one. Much lower costs and a really fun car. The G-wagen is just such a cool car. Listen to it accelerate on an entrance ramp and you'd understand. 0-60 in 6 seconds from a car that weighs almost twice as much as an STi, but with only 1/3 more HP/TQ (actually a little less). And it'll go anywhere in the world you want to go with a very nice comfortable ride.

But it's $1800 a month in payments plus another $700 or so in insurance (I have a lot of tickets in my car). I could get a brand new STi including insurance for probably 1/3 of that. Very tempting.....

As sweet as it would be for you to get into a 2011 STI. I'd probably die of jealousy at the next meet

I'm considering a new one, but I'm tempted to go used and put it right to stage 2. I like the look of the older ones too. Maybe I should've kept my Cobb exhaust then....

Oh yeah I definitely miss it! Sometimes I think if I get rid of the G-wagen, I could buy an STi and something else for the same money... Tempting.....

I'm really tempted to get one. Really really tempted. If they had upped the HP/TQ a little I'd be all over it. That's the only thing really holding me back. With how much Subaru changes things, I just know they'll introduce a bit more power into the 2012.....

I'd be all over a TBE and tune to solve that except for the fact my G-wagen has me spooked with all the warranty issues I've been facing with it. After 3 visits to the dealer to fix a door latch on the driver's door that is catching so bad I almost couldn't open it, this last time they said they'd have to send it to a body shop to look at. WTF? So they're going to break my factory paint seal and mess with things? I don't call that warranty work.

Yeah the 2012 should be real nice!

Thats crazy it took 3 times and its still not fixed right. I don't like dealerships anymore, they seem to know less about cars then I do.

Yeah, it's a simple alignment problem with mechanical parts. Just get it aligned and put some metal to metal adhesive on it for all I care. At least it won't move again! It's not like I'm going to be tearing the door latching mechanism off the car at any point. A body shop is an extreme option IMHO.

If you get one you will not regret it. there are small problems that come up sometime like the rattling in the back that alot of people have had trouble with but its a quick fix. the worst part about buying a new one is the first thousand miles because your supposed to stay under 4k rpms constantly and it just gets so tempting. good luck with your search for the best car you will EVER buy.
