it was me that posted about the 5 channel amp and i would agree with you if he were a bass head like myself...however for someone that wants to run 1 10 or 12 a 5 channel can work out great especially if you can get a deal on one.

So where is a good place to find a good cheap amp? I really like my music, but its hard for me to spend any money on my subaru that isnt a performance mod. But geez i just feel like I cant even enjoy my music with the stock stereo system.. I spoiled myself with my blazers audio system. I loved the sound in that thing!

honestly somewhere like ksl.com or keep an eye out at circuit city or best buy if they do a sale..the first thing is to figure out what exactly you want the system to do...bass heavy all around sound, ect and then you can look at the amp that will best suit what you want

I was thinking about putting in one twelve inch sub. I listen to
Rock mostly, but i also want all my techno/trance/dance to sound good too.

if you are just looking for one to run the sub i would say in the 300-400 watt range... and stay away from power coustic, sony,pioneer they just arent that good. something like an alpine, rockford fosgate, kicker, even a mtx would be a good one

you can do a 5 channel or a 4 channel for the doors and a 2 or 1 channel for the sub. or you could run a 4 channel for the doors and the sub. Unless you can find a good used one you are probably going to spend a bit on the 5 channel.
