To put on an up im going to have to take all the headers and exhaust crap off anyway so i thought while im doing that ill just put a dp in too. If i put a new up and a new dp on i cant run very well without some sort of engine managment, thus the v2 ap. In order to run an ap im going to have to ditch my AEM intake and go with the cobb cold air box setup. The AP doesnt like AEM intakes I hear.
So for all that im looking at spending...well lets see. Invidia up 150$ Invidia bellmouth Down pipe $500, Cobb cold air box setup $250, and an Ap is somewhere in the neighborhood of $600. EDIT: I also forgot to add a CBE system in there too. I already have one but, I want to run all Invidia. I actually would love to run the Invidia header/up-pipe combo but that runs a good 900 dollars. I might just save up and do it alllll at once. Instead of taking stuff on and off a bunch. Its also a lot easier (unless you buy new gaskets everytime) to get exhaust leaks if you are messing with your exhaust components a lot. Which is what i would be doing if i did it piece by piece.

$1500 bones. I got the money right now, but i like to keep a couple grand in the bank for rainy days. IE like when your starter took a dump on ya etc.
i read the stage 1 map notes for a bugeye and all it said you need is a stock intake or cobb? so that means you could do that for now.

o and i am in yellow stone right now. it is pretty good, nice weather today but man i am glad to be sitting down not in a car right now.

yeah i know the map notes say that, but in reality, from what i have read, things go a LOT smoother if you also run a catless up with stg 1.

I had a question for everyone running the catless exhaust system setups, Hows the problem with boost creep? Has anyone bored out their wastgate port to help fix the problem? I found an awesome link on nasioc that really helped me understand the concept. Ch ch Check it out..
    Boost Creep Help! - NASIOC

This also made me realize why a divorced dp would be a smart setup if ever i decide to put an external wastegate in.

My emotions, and how my car is currently running are somehow interconnected. I would hate to see how I would react if I totalled it!

I've got a couple taken, I'll post them tomorrow sometime. I've been down in St. George all day, so I haven't had a chance to upload them.

    morning hawk and everyone else.

steve what if you gut your stock up pipe for now? then when you go stage 2 get a cat less up when you put on your DP.

The problem isnt that i cant afford an uppipe. I just cant afford stage 2 yet. I just want to do everything at once while i have everything torn apart. And right now i dont have the money to go stage 2. So until then im fine with just running stock+

Really im not absolutely convinced that stage 2 is safe for my car. If i want to get 200k out of my engine, and transmission it might not be the best option for me. I will have to figure out if i want to bore out my wastgate to make certain that im never getting any boost creep. My subaru is my daily driver, i need it to last me until 200k miles without any major repairs. Regardless of how well I drive my car, stage 2 will never HELP me to get the most mileage out of my engine or tranny. The real question i have is, do i buy another daily driver car, and really start to mod my suby. Or do i keep my suby stock and buy another Chev to restore and have fun with? I used to own a blazer, but sold it. Worst mistake i ever made. I loved that truck. Easiest thing ever to work on, nothing is easier to pull power from then the old chevy 350's!

Boy did that truck eat gas! 11 mpg! = 500 bucks a month in gas. Not as bad is may seem when all i was paying other then that was an 80 dollar a month insurance payment.

    Timber Lets see those pictures!

truth. I'll hit 200,000 before I get back from vacation, probably. That's 140,000 miles of Stage II, on the stock turbo, tranny, alternator, pretty much everything except the exhaust and some maintenance bits are original.

Here is a pic of my damage:

DANG! what in the world happened the first time? Did the deer run into your door?

And 140,000 miles running stage 2 is pretty good! How often do you get into the power though?
