What about getting one of the suction sup mounts for the inside of the windshield? Seems like that would be pretty easy to do, and you wouldn't have to worry about losing the camera.

I'm trying to see what people are using for camera mounts in their WRX's? I would like to be able to record my Auto-x runs along with whatever track days I do, but with the '06's seats I can't use one of those headrest mounts, unless I use it on the back seats. I've seen some of those suction cup mounts but I am not sure if I would trust one, and also what about a teather if it is mounted to the outside of the car? And a cage or harness bar is out of the question. Just looking for an easy and inexpensive way to mount a video camera in my car.

if you get a manfrotto suction cup off bhphotovideo.com it WILL NOT COME OFF. it will stay there for days
My 06 TR seats can use the head rest mount.
