Did you read that thread? I wrote a lot of it, so it shows what I "personally" launch at. Rather than re-write all of it, I would prefer that your read it.
    Good luck.

i don't launch at a certain rpm. if you watch your boost gague when you idle you will be at negative pressure. if you quickly rev your engine you will see that you can get it into boost pressure rather than negative pressure. this is what you want to do when launching because you will be taking off already at boost instead of having to get to boost.

There are way too many variables in this world of racing to take one persons findings and make them doctrine. Every car is different, every track is different. A simple change like wheels, or tires, or any modifications can change the entire set up. So we like to send people to the sticky so they can get a good idea from different people with similar cars. Then go to the track and see what works for your car and your track. Then come back and post your info on what worked. Then it gives the newer noobs something to go off of. That is what the stickys on top are for.
Cuz I guarantee that what I do at the drag strip will not work for you!

Hey buddy.. Definitely start your own thread. This thread doesn't get the kind of traffic, and your question is pretty off of the original topic of this one. Welcome to the club! And the 2005 STi is regarded by most as the best year (I'd say the 06... but most of these b@stards can't stand the not so new look)
