    1/4 mile advice wanted

    I took my second trip to the track a few days ago, and was curios to see what i need to change to get better times with my stock 03 wrx wagon with 92 octane and at sea level. run 1- rt- .356
    60ft- 2.271
    1/4 mile- 15.064 @89.83


    run 2- rt- .405
    60ft- 2.118
    1/4 mile- 14.883 @89.51

    Your 60ft is really slow. Work on your launches. On my 06 TR I launched about 5k RPM.

    Don't dump dump is bad. Don't slip too much either cause you'll just slow your launch. There is a fine point where you release on the up rev and the car rockets off the line as if a preloaded rubber band. Nervs make it hard to find this point at the track I have found. I was lucky and cashed in on it for my 13.8 run. Now awaiting more mods to go back and try it again.

    well i made the second trip the track. with up pipe anddown pipe i got my best time down to a 14.269 @ 95.31 with an rt. of .142 and 2.017 60ft. just need some reassurance. i feel as if i could get my 60ft times down some more. and if so, will that significantly affect my finish times/ speed?

    60's still need work. YOu get those down and watch your et drop quite a bit.

    thanx. thats kinda what i thought you would say. what is to be expected? 1.8? 1.7? and am i running the risk of breaking anything other than the tranny or clutch? i wouldn't mind trying more, but it's like an hour wait between every run when theres a moderate size turnout at test and tune. got there at 3 and left at 7. goto make 3 passes. and every one i do i worry about my poor, febil, little tranny. maybe if theres nothing to worry about with the little hp i have then i'll stay longer next time. you guys tell me.

    1.8 would be good for you. You are always risking breaking that 5MT

    Wait is good, it gives you a chance to cool down a bit. What are you launching at?

    trying to stay around 5k ,but have tried lower and higher. seems for me 4500- 5500 is best.
