    Ripken 3/17

Anyone heading to ripken for philly scca's last winter event sat? Looks like it could really be a "winter" event. Do I here autocross in icy slush/snow? Sounds like fun, Could be the only time my re92s might be better than some dedicated autox or summer tires haha.

The event will be held regardless of the weather. They have done it on a snow covered lot. I never saw one, but there are / were pics of one snowcross on Philly SCCAs website.

Unless the snow gets deep enough for me to have to shovel at home Saturday I should be there.

this event turned out to be a blast! the first heat was on a solid sheet of ice with times over 100s! conditions got better as the day went on, i ran in the second heat had fastest time of the morning at 57.xxxs in slush. the cars were split into two heats and we got to have a morning and afternoon session and got at least 8 timed runs in, then some poeple stuck around for fun runs afterwards. The afternoon session was much faster and i ran in the second afternoon heat and got the second fastest time of the day with a 44.285s. the fastest time was by another 06 wrx wagon though. by the last heat there was a line just about the length of the course that was just wet, but if you didnt stick to this line you were in slush. It was an awsome day and there were a lot of WRXs there and they all did very well, expect for the racecomp engineering gc8 but he was on azenis and just couldnt find any traction. he was fun to watch though haha.

Barely let me leave the parking lot at work Friday night. The car spent the weekend there.

    A co-worker drove him home.

I was able to climb right up and down a couple of steep hills Friday on the RE92s. AWD =
