Best launching techniqes

I never own a awd untiil now, so what is the best technique to launch an AWD .. what RPM..

my plan:

Cobb Stage 2 with Turbo exhaust, UP, oil catch tank.. (love that <$25 mod..

)

I dont think i am going to go with BOV since ppl say it will F my car up, running rich right?! sounds nice though.. swoooooshhhhh

Add a new clutch to your list if you plan to do many launches, one of the weakest links in the WRX armor...

O ****.. what happend.. I launched at 4000rpms and shift to second.. and I felt a kick in the the rear.. and heard a boom in the back of my car.. is that the exhaust or what?

Bounce the revs between 4.5k to 5.5k and hold the clutch just under the friction point, and I mean just under. When you are ready to leave floor the throttle and quickly, and in a controlled manor(do not dump) release the clutch. If done properly the desired result should be achieved.

You can use the same method and hold the revs down low at say 3.5k and when ready to go floor the throttle and release the clutch in the manor described above at around 5.5k.

I have found that, for me, when I hold the clutch all the way to the floor I get crappy launches and burnt clutch. When I hold it just before the friction point all goes really really well.

Yeah, my civic has VTEC. I dont really slam that VTEC but it sounds nice FOT (full open throttle)..

I think the noise came from forcing to much exhaust to fast out of the muffler..(stock muffler) ..if that aint it.. what was it?... cuz all I remeber was smoking the **** out of that Grand Prix GTP.
