I'd like to see Kyalami, Hockenheim, Jerez, Rijeka, Watkins Glen, Suzuka, Magny Cours etc. I'd gladly trade any of the newer Asian venues. Some are no longer viable (they don't exist) but hope is free.

Completely agree about the recent Asian venues. Between the lack of history, terrain and inappropriateformodernF1car corners, they just feel completely soulless to me. Some of those you mentioned are a little before my time but, Hockenheim and Suzuka are still on the calendar.

That was some race. Did you guys notice that the HD picture was better for this race or was I imagining things.

No, but I have a $300 TV, so it's not likely that I'd notice, haha.

Can't wait to see Merc crush red bull at the A1. Renaming the lauda corner is something else.

Hobbs came out and said the right thing: we need more actual racing in Europe. I'm in for the history as much as anything else. If I wanted to just see racing I could go rent a kart for an hour. Keep and restore historic European venues.

His comment about Hamilton over-emphasizing his psychological and physical fitness was also spot on. Hamilton is lean and fit, so the car now spins more underneath him. Miserable Q3 and I doubt the GP will come up roses.

I remain amazed that Rosberg is German. Buxton's comment about England going home from Brazil was of course correct but not relevant; Hamilton can fail independently of the football team. (As for Greece? Our record is better than both England and Spain but players have come to blows, and rather than airing laundry we should have said we cannot afford the tickets, thanks we'll watch on TV. Impossible and unrealistic but the right thing to have done).

    Go Williams!

My only memory of the A1 track is of Juan Pablo Montoya's radio transmission regarding a deer on track.

Well, Hockenheim became a boring track. I'm not referring to today's race, just the track. It's about as interesting as a modern middle-east circuit. Bring back the old track with ludicrously-long straights!

I find it odd some parts are wide as a football field and others narrow as a rally stage. Ricciardo and Bottas stole the show.

Yes, I thought the same thing. I noticed the narrow parts and wondered how that could have happened when the track was altered relatively recently. Bottas is proving quite consistent and Ricciardo is just a thoroughly likable guy. I have no idea what Massa was thinking.

Bad marshaling in Hungary during qualifying. Hamilton's car caught fire and rather than honouring history and doing what their predecessors had done 20 years ago, the marshals did not hit Hamilton with a Sköda. They didn't even try.

F1 is so pointless and corporate these days. If marshals aren't going to run over people I'm not going to waste my time.

Yeah, what's with that? They obviously need better training. How can a marshal score points if they can't hit a single driver in a season?

Good race this time. Great drive by Ricciardo. But I'm starting to dislike Rosberg as much as I dislike Vettel; just too arrogant. Button got absolutely screwed by McLaren. Terrible rain predictions by the team ruined his tire strategy and saw him go from 1st to 18th in a single pit stop. Awful.

How. The. Hell. did Alonso keep it all together for so long on those old tires? Staggered.
