Went to Bandimere Speedway this past Wednesday in my 2012 WRX Sedan

My car is all stock except for the SPT exhaust. Was around 73 degrees or so. Elevation of 5800. My best pass was a 14.40@94.99 w/ 2.141 60' and 9.252 1/8. I didn't dump it, I slipped the clutch a couple times. The rest of the time I just took off fast and was getting consistent 14.7-9's. Was my first time driving AWD at the track. Is that good for stock and the elevation? I'm think so, but I don't go to the track often. There was a guy running a white Bugeyed, on a e85 tune that kinda helped me out and told me to shift to 4th a little early which helped out.

Down at Pueblo Motorsports Park, in my all-stock (except SPT exhaust) '09 I was running 14.7's consistently without using launch control or abusing the clutch. It is my daily driver to work, so I wasn't going to abuse it, just have some fun.

My times were faster than everyone else except the real purpose-built drag cars, and one Neon SRT-4 that was gutted and modded to the max running 12.1's. I got a charge out of watching the ricer Honda kids, with their ass-can mufflers and cold-air intakes, running like 17's after bragging about how fast their cars were while waiting in the lineup.

I hope to be back next summer running an Exedy clutch, downpipe, Stage 2, launch control, Snow Performance methanol injection, and beat that $#!^% SRT-4 !!!

Ok, so it sounds like I'm about right on the money I guess. Yeah, I only slipped the clutch twice because this is my DD too. The 2nd time was a 14.45. I was trying to get better than a 14.6 because my supervisors C6 vette, hit that a couple weeks ago.

From what I've read, you're right where you should be for your car.

PS. Don't ever dump the clutch in these cars Let the clutch take the abuse of slipping if you're going to launch it. Because it is awd if you dump the clutch, you're still going to get good traction and not spin the wheels, so the stress is on the transmission instead of the tires. Better to replace a clutch from slipping it than to need to replace a differential.

I couldn't tell from your post if you knew all this or not, so apologies if you do!

Sweet, I guess that's good news. lol. Yeah, I know about not dumping the clutch. But it doesn't hurt to remind people.
