I haven't been following it much lately. This race is really shaping up though!

At the caution now, points are tied for the championship and the call will go on total wins.

    Oh, that didn't go well.

I'm for Stewart - Anyone else in?

How is Stuart down 10 points?? I thought it was 3 at the beginning of the race. Is it just because he is 6 spots back and those are "projected points" or does he really have to make up 10 points to win it?

Definitely an exciting "Chase". I'm not a hardcore fan, but I catch a bunch of races every year. I give Edwards a lot of respect for how he handled the post-race interview. Extremely classy. Stewart as well, but its a little easier when you win, though.

    It was the projected points.

Well just finished watching the race as I had to leave with about 50 laps left last night. It blows my mind how well he drove that car to win and how hard Edwards drove to try and catch him. Im with you on not watching much NASCAR but i do enjoy it and can respect such a closely matched race

I'll watch it every now and then, not a big fan though. I was kind of interested in watching Pastrana but haven't seen him on any televised races yet.

Yeah, if you can't appreciate that kind of show because of some bias....

Thats because you only drive in a straight line. Those left turns can be tough for a drag racer

I was really hoping Johnson would win a sixth in championship.

I was a Gordon fan and saw Johnson as his partner/nemesis so kind of love/hate thing. My wife all hate - too monotonous when he won all the time. She was literally screaming like it was my mom watching the CAVs just to see someone else win.

I'm not much for football. Like me, I think you would have understood the entertainment value of the first ever tie in a superbowl. Carl was 0 points and 1 sec. behind for the last 30 laps without any cautions.

Over the years I've come to embrace the hate and/vitriol others have for Johnson.

My next hope is that Johnson comes back next year and goes on to win 3 more championships in a row. That would so really piss in the eye of all the haters (your wife not included lol) and then retire with the most championships of any man, most in a row, one of only two men to win more than two in a row and the only man to win more than two in a row twice.

I have a slight man crush on JJ. I'm pretty sure (like me) he wakes up in the morning and pisses excellence.
