RESULTS: 2011 Motovicity Distribution IDRC Sport Compact Nationals presented by BR

Well it was a great weekend, hot and humid. Many thanks to Motovicity, DSport Magazine and the IDRC for getting on board with the event for the second year in a row.

There were three classes total set up to run. Street tire, Race tire and a Kart class.

The course was set up in a large U shaped pattern on wide roadways. We had two guys come in, take one look at the pavement we had to work with and leave..........definitely their loss. The course was a complete blast to run and the guys from NORA did an exceptional job of setting it up and running the event. They are true professionals. Speeds at the finish line were approaching 100 mph.

Here are the results from the Autocross:

    Spectators: 146
    Racers: 37

    RACE TIRE

1st Place, Ben Linfield, Mazda Miata, 32.890 seconds
2nd Place, Stephen Dorman, Ford Focus, 34.03 seconds
3rd Place, Jim Wylie (type of car, unknown), 34.28 seconds

    STREET TIRE

    1st Place, David Sutton, S2000, 31.83 seconds
2nd Place, Trevor Jones, Genesis Coupe, 32.25 seconds
    3rd Place, Phil Hudson, S2000, 32.70 seconds

    KART

1st Place, Zachary Buschur, Coyote Chassis-Animal motor, 36.70
