    NHRA:Topeka Results

Robert Hight outran teammate Mike Neff in Sunday's Funny Car final at the 23rd NHRA Summer Nationals at Heartland Park Topeka in Kansas to claim the 200th win for John Force Racing. The other winners at the seventh of 22 events in NHRA’s 60th anniversary season were Spencer Massey (Top Fuel) and Shane Gray (Pro Stock).

The win was Hight's 21st career victory. His less-than-stellar 4.284-second final-round pass at 264.86 mph in his Auto Club Ford Mustang was still good enough to defeat Neff’s 4.562 seconds and 215.27 mph in the Castrol GTX Ford Mustang.

The list of drivers who have won races for John Force Racing includes John Force (132), Tony Pedregon (27), Hight (21), Gary Densham (8), Eric Medlen (6), Ashley Force Hood (4) and Neff (2).

In Top Fuel, Massey’s win came at the expense of Bob Vandergriff, who extended his NHRA record of runner-up finishes without a win to 13.

In Pro Stock, Gray won for the second time in his career and moved back into the top 10 in the standings with his final-round pass of 6.679 seconds at 206.95 mph in his Service Central Pontiac to Greg Stanfield’s 6.695 seconds at 206.29 mph in the NitroFish Pontiac.

The NHRA Full Throttle Series gets back in action in two weeks with the NHRA SuperNationals June 2-5 at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, N.J.

I did not get a chance to see the rest of the race past the first round. I had to head out after Greg Andersons fire. Did it hurt any wiring in the car?
    Anything super exciting?

Apparently the car was fine,a little paint searing was about it. Alot of pedaling in the nitro classes. The best race was Stanfield vs Nobile in prostock.Stanfield won on a holeshot with a RT of.000 vs Nobile RT of .015.
