Tough choice!

IMO there are only a few truly significant drives these past few decades -- only a few instances where the crew did something really remarkable. The trouble is that the videos from those events are rare, or poor. Here's two:

1. Walter Roehrl, Audi Sport Quattro S1 at San Remo in 1985.

The mid-engined 4WD cars should have won. Roehrl was using an open diff on tarmac, but a closed diff on gravel.

He beat everyone not because of the car, but because he is the best in history. The video doesn't get that across but it's all I can find.

2. Patrick Snijers, BMW M3 at the Isle of Man in 1988.

The car was at least five years behind the times when it was launched. Snijers simply didn't take no for an answer and manhandled a basically primitive car. It was spectacular for the fans.

SD that E30 video is amazing too the e30 was always one of my favorite cars i used to have a 1987 318Is but the head gasket blew so i got rid of it, it was a sad day lol. You knew it was German as soon as you shut the door it sounded "German"

This was the car's first rally, and they simply beat everyone! Lancia were, are, and always will be the best team in the world, but even they didn't quite expect Toivonen to win the thing outright first time round.

No, he's a talented driver, there's no doubt about it. However, he seems to lack the discipline of rally legends. This can be generalized for many of the current x-games champions. I feel as though x-games type "rallying" is centric to showboating and advertising more than rally demonstrations of the past.
