Subarus and their awd system are designed specifically not to lose traction... so repeatedly attempting to make them do so will typically lead to unsatisfactory results.

That is why it is important to turn off the traction controll system. If it wasnot then i know it would be tearing the car apart

I don't want to put words in anyone's mouth, by I think they're saying you may be in over your head. There's no point to the thread at this stage. Take a look at the sticky threads in each forum and see what you can learn about the car, it will save you lots of money and even time.

No I'm saying it takes a lot of work, more than just turning of the Traction Control off. At least to do so without blowing components every minute.

It takes a lot of work. This guy is building his GD to enter a professional drift circuit.

Brah only limited 4eats will be able to safely take that kind of abuse. They are soon to be teh fastest in the world. Only downside is you have to fuel them with solid rolls of money in the gas tank.

drifting requires the car to have the rear wheels supplying power while the front wheels rotate to steer in the opposite direction. Even if you could get the rear and front wheels to spin at different rates on tarmac, you will destroy your center diff in very short order.

Why would you purchase a WRX/STi if you're into drifting? That's like having a grill party with hamburgers and inviting all vegetarians...

I'll take another bus hit any day. Just watch me brah. No respect'in round here anymo.

EDIT: To be useful, don't buy a sooby if you want to drift. It has been built to prevent sliding. There are many better cars out there if you are really into that sort of thing.

meh drifting is for show and nothing else. You'd post a better lap time by just keeping the car's composure and driving through the course. Unless, of course, you're opposed to using your brake pedal and love burning through a set of tires every three days.

Man you guys r just haterz! Why not just help the kid???

There is a relay for the AWD hidden deep inside the dashboard. Unplug the relay, and it will turn the car into a RWD. You can then drift easily. Here's how to get to it.

    1: Remove speedometer cluster
2: Remove Radio faceplate, Radio, temperature controls, ash tray, and glove box.
3: Drop steering column down for extra room.
4: Loosen dash mounts so you can boost up the dash an inch or two. You'll need to do this so you can get to the relay.
5: Feel around in there until you find it. Simply unplug it, and re-install everything.
    6: Go drifting!!!
