Try the old shoe polish trick I suppose. The ideal will vary depending on the course and the temps and the surface anyway, and since you're asking I'm assuming you're there to have fun -- have fun!

    Stock 17s? Stock tires?

I "believe" the max pressure is 50psi.

Considering your pressure will increase with the heat... plus the heat of the track and ambient air..... I'd say start at 38 cold... and then adjust accordingly.

The RE-92's will not perform well. It doesn't matter what tire pressure you set them to.

I actually went to my first autocross even on the stock wheels and tires, there's nothing wrong with it. If you're going for fun, you'll still have fun. No you won't have the best times in your class more than likely, but so what? This year, I'm going to be competitive, but that year was all about fun.

I ran 36F/36R BTW on the stockers, and they performed I think as well as they were going to, above that there was a little bit of floating around corners. Run, adjust, run again.

It all varies greatly according to the tires you are running and the ambient air temps.

If you are stock all around you might want to fight understeer by adding a bit more air in the rear to encourage some rotation.

With my tires and suspension setup I average 40 psi all around.
