    Awesome Dezzy!

You should be able to get down to a 2.0 60ft with a little practice!

Read up on some of the techniques on drag launches... the "boost build" is what I used before launch control and I was getting 1.9's... now that I have launch control I'm getting consistent 1.8's.

I disagree... I think both have their place... and If you think about it... learning how to launch hard, and shift quick is an element in every other form of motorsports... if you practice drag racing, I'll bet you dollars on donuts that you'll get faster times at autoX

What RPM do you set your launch control to?

Depends on what you are driving.
Autocrossing gives a longer high, and there certainly is more endurance involved. But nothing beats getting strapped into a rocket ship.

+1 I was hooked after I took my sti to NH! I have been numerous times and it just gets better! Trying to knock off a tenth here or there or get the 60' time in the 1.6s is what its all about

5200... it's probably a little high now... I'm spinning all 4 tires off the line unless I'm in the groove and I get about 9-10psi on launch

Drag racing is a really good time however I also agree that rally and autocross is much funner. But it is good seeing a bigger import crowd at the drag strips these days!

    Looks like Orlando speedworld

Orlando is my local track and I've been there many times with different cars including my '03 wrx.
My first run was a 15.4 @ 94 where I underestimated my awd traction and bogged the engine pretty bad. I then got progressively better over the the next 4 runs (I've only run this car 5 times). I ended up with a 13.976 @ 94.75 with a 1.90 60'. I was thrilled to break the 13 second milestone. My launch technique was to rev to 6500 and pretty much drop the clutch.....no tire spin, no clutch burn, the car just went. The launch was hard enough that by the time the clutch fully engaged I was going fast enough to build boost. I retired it from drag racing after that run fearing for my tranny (I had just rebuilt it) and knowing that I had gotten everything out of the car.

Its good to see other non STIs out there. Nothing against STIs just that I like to see cars like my own racing. Keep it up. With more abuse you too could run 13s.

By the way usually I'm one of those Camaro guys previously mentioned. Less likely to break something and if I do.....its just a Camaro.
