This is a discussion on is Launching bad?? within the Motorsports Talk forums, part of the Community - Meet other Enthusiasts category; if you do it correctly.. then it's fine. I've got over 50 drag launches on the car at about 6lbs ...

    if you do it correctly.. then it's fine. I've got over 50 drag launches on the car at about 6lbs of boost (w/ launch control) and I've got 0 problems.

    7000 rpm clutch drops will slaughter the transmission though

    03-05 have the same transmission, 06-07 have a different one. I own a late 06. There were issues with early 06's busting transmissions, but I haven't found many late 06's and 07's blowing transmissions... so take my experience with a grain of salt

    It is called the 12 1/2 Chrisman. It is a full floating rear and it has a 12.5" ring gear and will take as much horsepower as you could ever achieve traction for, for quite a few hits. If you had as little as say, 1500 horsepower, the thing would essentially last forever. (Better open your wallet while you are sitting down when they tell you the price. But tell them Buzzz sent you and they may give you a deal.)
