How much power? Time slips? I rarely hear of anyone in the 12's on the stock turbo.. I have never been to the strip but I put down 230/280 in my 2002 wrx with a stock tranny and clutch.

First..... you drive in reverse... as fast as the engine will allow you.

Then..... pop it in neutral while still rolling backwards...

Clutch it... slide into 1st gear

Put the accelerator on the floor till the rev limiter start going off at about 7K

then... while still rolling backwards.....Don't lift your foot off the clutch - that can slow the process down.... you sidestep the clutch and let the natural spring return of the clutch lift itself.

But seriously... I really don';t feel the need to hold steady at a high RPM to launch.... I'll rev the motor up and down, and I'll time the "increase" in RPM with the release of the clutch... very little stress on the gears.

I can consistently his 1.7 60 ft times as well.... without shocking the tranny at all.

Watch my track racing video in my signature... I was pretty proud of that launch.
