I wouldn't imagine that it would be too hard, but I am still a bit new to scoobies![]()
Realistically? 10k.
The Ghosts of Zooph and Sarcasmo Will haunt CLUBWRX forever!!!
Depends, there are some stock turbo WRXs running 11s nowadays.

yeah I figured as much- like I said I am still new to the whole Subaru scene.
Would a stock WRX handle the kind of power needed to get you down the track in that amount of time consistantly?
I heard about a guy putting the SVX four speed into his WRX, I heard that it was a pretty stout tranny.
I know that the EJ255 with stock internals and not sleeved is an invite for disaster, and that a little horse power goes a long way with a Subaru- so I wont need retarded amounts to get great results...
Any thoughts?
Welcome
It's generally thought that the 5-speed is good for about 300tq. However this depends on how hard you drive it. If drag racing a lot you should start to look in to aftermarket gears or a 6-speed swap.
Unless it was built for extra power, not sure why anyone would do this, the SVX 4pseed (only trans available on the SVX) was the same as the ones installed on the Legacy/Imprezas of the era.
There are people running around with 20G's making lots of power high up (where you'll need it in drag racing), but it'd be a good idea to invest in a built block.
Thanks guys
I am lucky that I am a bit of an armchair engineer already (came from being a K20A2/4A-GE guy) so I am happy that I have a good understanding of the way stuff works.
Just the boxer's quirks are new to me.
So far here is what I was considering doing to my WRX:
AEM intake
OEM STi manifold
OEM STi TMIC or something after market- don't know which
20G turbo OR an ARMs M7760
Full exhaust system
Dynojet CMD
Reflash
Buddy Club Electronic Throttle Controller
Darton sleeves
Better con-rods, 9.0:1 SCR pistons OEM crank
Ported heads
BC cam shafts
My idea is to try not to have to depends too much on boost, but rather to make the boost more effective (it seems like a lot of tuners out there have cars that can run a lot of boost or they do, but the car will not use it as effectively due to the fact that the car is choked- cams, ports, etc)
I would like to have a pair of maps, for daily driving on that is floating not too much below 300 (anything over 300 in an AWD car will scare the piss out of you on street tires- thanks to the horrible traction that DD tires get) and another map that could put down about 365 or so for when I take it to the strip. D-sport had a good series about a test and tune with a EJ205 gave me some good ideas.
As far as the drive line:
Robispec drive shaft
LSD set
A grippy clutch of some sort
Lighter then OEM wheels (was looking at Buddy Club)
And OEM STi brakes (gotta love people that throw big brake kits on low HP cars- hilarious. That rotational weight is TRAGIC)
Dunno about the suspension yet. I'll have to look more into that, its not like an AE86 that is the black hole of suspension stuff, and will respond amazing to anything well.
As far as stuff that just looks good, Carbon hood and trunk, sparco buckets and harnesses, need to look into the bars, and some nice gaugesNO BIG STUPID WING, NO FLASHY FRUITY PAINT, NO NOTHING RICEY AND HONDA LIKE.
Just my thoughts.
If I am wrong about something let me know. I am only human.
Oh crap...
Sorry pal. You're pretty far off...
On a 20G there's no need to spend all this money on internals... Don't waste money on the CMD, OEM STi Intake Manifold, or OEM STi Intercooler... AEM makes a crap intake, the Electronic Throttle Controller is a GIGANTIC Failure... your car has a DBW Throttle that is controlled through the stock ECU... you don't want to eff with that. You haven't discussed fueling. The STi heads flow better than the WRX's... just get an STi...
Here's a better list for what you want:
STi
Turboback Exhaust
DW 1000cc Injectors
Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump
E85 Tune
TD06H-20G w/ EWG
APS Turbo Inlet Tube
FMIC (APS and Perrin are great brands (depends on the year as to which I'd get))
Intake depends on which FMIC you get
Pro-Tune
Sticky Tires
Huge SMILE as you pass at 11.5 or lower

thanks for the honesty bro
I was thinking about raising the compression- better response.
erm I have a base. I can afford a lot of goodies, but not an STi. I was lucky to get my 06 WRX for the price I did.
How much boost would I run at for that kind of results?
Also, how much horse would I shoot for on the dyno. Your right about the intake, I just read that the factory one is outstanding
You need to re-think your goal...
To be able to get in the 11's, you'll need to spend about 4,000 for just the gears alone to be able to handle that.
Honestly on a 2006 WRX the following should put you in the 11's:
PPG gears 1-4 OEM 5 $4,000
ACT Clutch and flywheel $1,500
850cc Injectors $450
255lph Fuel Pump and harness $125
Perrin FMIC (only one I'd run on the 06/07's) $1500
Perrin Intake with K&N filter $250 $50
Turbo Back Exhaust $1000
TD06-20G $1400
EWG setup $330
Hallman MBC $120
Quality Recirculating Bypass Valve $200
Quality Tires $1200
Tune $450
It would take approximately $12,575 to get you in the 11's...
Also at that power, squating becomes a problem... So then you need springs... which is another few hundred dollars... if they're stiff spring then you'll need struts to match, which is another few hundred dollars... at that power you should be doing motor and transmission mounts.. a couple hundred dollars...
You have a very long road ahead my friend.
what are subies usually entered in?
i want to do something competitive.
