I am really not sure, but if I were going to spend big money on a huge turbo...I would want the FMIC to be able to supply it with a bigger charge of cool air...just my opinion...I am sure some one will chime in with a little better info!

Yeah but the thing about the FMIC is that you have to build up more pressure through out the system. All that piping and all. The TMIC has less volume in terms of piping, and with a good amount of thermal management im sure I can over come the heat soak.
Also, the IC volume is pretty good on them.

Alright. What brand for the rotated kit would you suggest? I was looking at Harman/Crawford.
How about the FMIC brand?
I wont get really bad lag with the bigger turbo will I? I figure that the turbo having better airflow it would counteract that.
Also, what should I look into for my drive train if I am going to push the power needed to run these kind of times (this is thing is NOT a DD)

anything 20g and above a front mount should be used IMO.
get an APS fmic if you have an 02-05, and a perrin if you have 06+.
Cp pistons have done me great since my recent build. Plan on being in the 11's this season on the vf39.

Did you get rods too or just the pistons? What should I do about the tranny? I was debating getting new gears, new clutch for sure but I'm still a little confused about whole... box of geary goodness and what I should do to it.
How much PSI do you have to run at to get a VF series to do that kinda stuff? I thought for sure that I would need a... larger... turbo- but 12s (I dropped the 11s idea, I start ROTC soon) sounds more reasonable and would beat the piss outta most people on the road.
Would a 18G or a 16G work as a good replacement instead of a larger VF?

With a 2.5L, stick with the 18G of those 2 choices. With any turbo larger than stock you are capable of regularly running 12s or better at sea level.
Shouldn't necessarily have to.
